Keyland Leans Into the Chaos on Upcoming Album Knuckle Sandwich

There’s something about Keyland’s music that feels a little unhinged in the best possible way. One minute it’s heartfelt and reflective, the next it sounds like a late-night spiral at a Tulsa dive bar, and somehow it all works together perfectly.

That energy is all over Knuckle Sandwich, Keyland’s upcoming album dropping this Friday, May 29th.

Over the past few months, Keyland has been slowly feeding listeners pieces of the record with songs like “Foolish Thing To Do,” “Pinball Machine Rodeo Queen,” “Stick,” and “Crayon.” Each track feels like it comes from a completely different corner of the brain, but together they paint a picture of an artist fully leaning into the chaos. There’s grit, humor, heartbreak, weird storytelling, and enough personality to keep the whole thing unpredictable.

“Pinball Machine Rodeo Queen” especially feels like the kind of song that could only come from Oklahoma, strange, loud, charming, and impossible to ignore. Meanwhile, tracks like “Foolish Thing To Do” slow things down just enough to show the emotional weight underneath all the noise.

To celebrate the release, Keyland is also throwing a rooftop album release show at Welltown Brewing in Tulsa on Saturday, June 20th. Only 150 tickets will be sold, which almost guarantees the night’s going to feel packed, sweaty, and memorable in the best way possible.

The show will feature an all-star backing band including Ramsey Thornton, Jacob Wade, Cash Browns, Hugh Westhoff, Olivia McGraw, and Travis Linville, with moreandmore.mp3 opening things up. There’ll also be limited-edition merch available at the show for fans wanting to grab something special from the night.

If the songs released so far are any indication, Knuckle Sandwich won’t be a clean, polished ride, and that’s exactly why people are excited for it.
